Hello friends - welcome to Oakwood Farms!
My name is Ashlee and I am a second generation proprietor of the Oakwood Farms family. My parents started Oakwood when I was in grade school in 1996, and they had one dream in mind - provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable atmosphere for the horses and riders of the Greater Chicago Area— and that’s just what they did. Here we are over two decades later, celebrating our 25th anniversary!
My mom’s love for animals, and specifically horses, started at a young age when she grew up in rural Oakwood, Illinois - the namesake of Oakwood Farms. She was a member of the Fox River Valley Hunt for years, and if you talk horses with her you will definitely hear about her trusty sidekick Percheron, “Sherman the Tank”.
She passed that love onto me when she got me involved in the Fox River Valley Pony Club in 1997, and it became such a mainstay in my life that I went on to earn my degree in equine science. It is with that same passion that Oakwood Farms operates day in and day out.

Oakwood Farms is a unique boarding and training facility located in beautiful and scenic Barrington Hills.We offer boarding, training, lessons and sales. We pride ourselves in being a community where horses and riders of every discipline, skill level, and age are welcome. We have boarders who compete, trail ride, participate in Natural Horsemanship events, retirees, young horses...etc. All are welcome to our group of eclectic folks who love their horses.Our board includes twice daily hay and grain, bedding, daily stall cleanings with shavings added routinely, tack room access, all-day turn out, and access to all our riding areas. We have various size stalls available immediately! Vet and farrier holds are free of charge! Supplements given daily free of charge!OUR FACILITIES:
